Leviathan brings about a new element in Dio's combat style, which is the Marble Gauge that provides a periodic boost in the relevant field that is chosen. The Devil Force path provides the Power gauge, which boosts attack power. The Weapon Force path on the other hand provides the Spell & Time gauges, which reduces AP usage and reduces cooldown time respectively.

In his skill tree, there are no dramatic changes except for more effective combo options and 3 new skills and techniques. At this point, Leviathan Dio is a powerful enough force to reckon with in battle. Major changes to the choice of skills and techniques usually begin here.

Dodge:
  • Type: Blink
  • Dio right now, would have 3 options of evasion (2 types of Blink and now Dodge), but their operative use is different by the way they control the evasion mechanism. This can cause a slight confusion in using the right Dodge/Blink move
  • *This portion will be the same across all Dio articles by the way*
  • Blink has a short delay before activation, meaning you can get countered out of the move if you used it too late against an incoming attack. It's 3 second cooldown is also a limitation if you have a sudden need to evade continuously.
  • Dodge on the other hand has no delay, can be used consecutively until your meter runs out, albeit limited in use, and allow you to dodge repeatedly until you find safety. You will need to manually control your direction of escape however.

Notes:
  • Leviathan's attraction is the new changes to the main attack combo, which further enhances it's effectiveness in combat.
  • Marble Gauges can only be filled by technique attacks. If the player does not equip Dio with at least one technique to use, that gauge simply becomes unusable in combat.
  • ^ Different techniques fill up the gauge at different rates.

Skill Tree Setup: Passives

Combo Attack Type 3
A combination of clawing and projectile attacks. The attacks deal reasonably high damage but is slower than Type 2 and leaves openings for counterattacks due to knockdown effects happening only late into the combo.

Dash Attack Type 2
This changes the clawing dash attack into an uppercut style that launches hit enemies into the air. It is more effective and useful due to the quick effects and knock down results.

Critical & Double Attack Type 2
Changes the default scythe attack into a short-ranged projectile attack. It hits well but does not complement with knockback attacks that put enemies out of reach.

Reduced Counterattack Cooldown
Continued from the Stygian skill tree, this further reduces counterattack cooldown by 3 more seconds at Lv 5. Bringing the reduced total from 8 seconds to 5 seconds.

Skill Tree Setup: Actives

Effects

Combo Attack: Increased Speed
  • As the name implies, it increases the general attack speed of Dio's main combo across all 3 types.
Power Marble

When the meter is filled up, Dio is provided an 8% attack power boost for 5 seconds. 2 augments can be changed for Power Marble.
  • Sustained Power Marble: Increases attack power by 25%. Duration remains at 5 seconds.
  • Enhanced Power Marble: Increases duration to 10 seconds. Attack power remains at 8%.

Techniques:

Grip (6 AP)
  • Type: One-Shot
  • Range: Short
  • Damage: Burst
  • Dio uses his Rake Hand as he jumps into the air, propelling himself diagonally forward as he attacks with it.
  • Grip works well with Leviathan's new passive, Dash Attack Type 2, as it knocks them into the air right into Grip's line of attack.
  • Grip also allows Dio to escape forward-incoming attacks.

Skills

Cool Spiral (23 AP)
  • Type: Linear, Close-In, Direct
  • Range: Mid
  • Damage: Multi
  • Animation: Short
  • Dio disappears into another dimension and reappears charging forward into his enemy.
  • Despite the attack style, Cool Spiral does not have pierce-through effect and stops at the first enemy Dio encounters.
  • The "Direct" status stems from the fact Cool Spiral has difficulty hitting even stacked enemies, thanks to the stoppage effect.

Evil Eddy (46 AP)
  • Type: Projectile, Linear, Splash, DoT
  • Range: Long
  • Damage: Multi
  • Animation: Short
  • Dio generates a sphere of demonic energy that goes forward striking the first enemy it comes in contact with. Evil Eddy has 3 attack variations with the same DoT damage and exploding finale.
  • The sphere halts at first contact with an enemy and inflicts DoT on it. ("Z" is not pressed)
  • The sphere enlarges and becomes a pierce-through DoT projectile with constant speed. The larger your enemy is, the more damage it takes as it passes through. ("Z" pressed at least 3 times)
  • The sphere enlarges more and becomes a pierce-through DoT projectile which slows down upon enemy contact. The larger your enemy is, the more damage it takes as it passes through. ("Z" is mashed until skill release)
